My Home

I live in a duplex unit--parlor and top floor--of an 1887 Italianate Victorian row-house in Jersey City Heights on Palisade Avenue. The living space is 1100 sq ft with a rear deck off the kitchen/dining room. The yard has a patio with an in-ground swimming pool which is shared with the tenant of the ground floor apartment. The 123 bus stop to NYC Port Authority is 3 blocks away. The Journal Square PATH is a 15 walk or one can take a bus (NJ 84) or a minivan to the station. The local supermarket, Supremo, is .05 mile north and is on the bus line. There is a corner store 2 blocks from the house. Dunkin' Doughnuts, Subway and the drugstore are 2 blocks north on Palisade Ave.

My Cats

Skitzy
11

Skitzy is a playful lap cat. She will want to sleep with you. She settles down and allows you to sleep through the night. She will not wake you.

I feed my cats twice a day. They share 2 cans of wet food divided onto 4 plates. After they eat the wet food, I divide 3/4 cup of dry kibble on their plates.

None.

Lizzie

Lizzie is shy.

Lizzie gets a supplement. I mix a 1/2 teaspoon of Psyllium into her wet (canned) food. I put her plate on the stairs. She is shy but is trained to go to the staircase to get her special food. She eats her dry food in the kitchen with the other cats.

I have 3 other cats for a total of 5. Leo is orange and the brother of Lizzie, the brown tabby. Luke is white with black markings. Foxy is a dilute calico. All the cats are allowed outside at their will. You may let them in and out through the patio door. They also use a pet door. I have 4 litter boxes in the house and 1 on the deck. I scoop twice a day. The litter is put into a covered can on the deck. The bag is put out for the trash pickup on Sunday and Wednesday evenings after 7pm.
