With 5 years of professional experience, I have cared for quite a few cats (and dogs, birds and fish).
I know how to properly interact with all types of temperaments, and tailor my handling methodology based on the needs of the individual pet. I am gentle and patient with all my charges, and is experienced working with kittens, cats with special needs, and seniors, too. I have a knack with shy cats; there have been times where a guardian has told me to just leave food and water for the cat because he will probably hide, and the cat did not hide from me, so I was able to play with him, brush him, depending on the circumstances. If a cat hides under the sofa or bed, I will get down and gently talk to the cat and check on them to be sure they are ok, while their guardian is away. I stay an hour to give the cat companionship and stimulation, not just put the food down and clean the litter box, and go.
I grew up with miniature schnauzers, and enjoyed taking my dog Ajax for leisurely walks. I always loved animals, all types of animals. I have had the pleasure of living with cats for many years, and currently live with 4 cats - Linda, Petunia, Coco & Petey, all of which were rescued by me, from the street and an apartment building laundry room.
I am a conscientious guardian; after losing my beloved cat Friendly suddenly to liver disease in 1998, I began making homemade raw food for my cats. Since then, I also treat their ailments and behavior issues homeopathically with the guidance of a veterinarian. Homeopathy is gentle and effective, with no side effects, and no stressful visits to the vet or invasive procedures.
I am an advocate for animals, and have fostered and rescued cats, and kittens for over 20 years, and TNR'd, (also dogs, puppies, domestic and wild birds, and even a ferret!) My commitment to animals is so strong that she has been a vegan for 20 years, abstaining from consuming or purchasing items containing animal products, or brands that engage in animal testing.
