Connect with trusted members who can take care of your cat when you're away

Hosts: How it Works

METRO NYC HOSTS: WE WILL SEND A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER TO TAKE AWESOME PHOTOS OF YOUR HOME AND CATS.

As a Stay with Stella host, you can connect with other members who want to take care of your cat in exchange for staying in your home.

  • You win – no expensive cat sitters or guilt of imposing on friends or family
  • The sitter wins – no impersonal hotel and a furry friend to spend time with
  • Your cat wins – companionship beyond a quick visit for food, water and litter box cleaning

For a limited time, membership is free! No credit card is required. Here’s how to get started:

Step 1 – Join and Create a Profile

We’ll need some basic information. Once you’ve joined, you’ll be directed to the member profile area where you’ll need to enter information about your home and your cats. The more information you include in your profile, the easier it is to connect with other members. Pictures are important! Include at least a few of your home and a few of your cats.

If you have travel plans you can enter them now. Or enter them later when you’re ready to travel.

Step 2 – Add Hosting Gigs

Use the guidelines above to create a great listing. Again, the more information you include, the easier it is for sitters to know if your plans and theirs are a good fit.

Step 3 – Get to Know your Sitter

Once you’ve posted your gig and other members contact you using the messaging system built into the Stay with Stella site, you can get to know them by viewing their profiles.

You can also take a look at sitter availabilities to see if anyone is available when you’re going away and contact them directly.

Since the sitter will be staying in your home and caring for your cat, you’ll want to learn more about them so you’re comfortable with one another. Start off with an email and arrange to speak on the phone. Better yet, jump on a Facetime or Skype call.

Here are a few questions that can help you learn what you have in common with one another:

Where do you live?
What do you do for a living?
Are you traveling alone or with a spouse or partner. Tell me about him or her…
What’s your experience taking care of cats?
What are your cats like?

That’s it. You can rest assured that your cat will be well-taken care of by a fellow cat person like yourself. So pack your bags – it’s time to travel!
